Packing in the pancakes!

With today being Shrove Tuesday Year 3 have been looking at how and why it is celebrated across the globe.

Did you know that in Northern Ireland the eldest unmarried daughter would toss the first pancake, if it flipped she would marry that year and if she dropped it she would stay single.

Some parts of Wales kick tin cans down the street to represent putting away all the pots, pans and utensils used to make tastier foods.

We stayed with the British tradition of having pancakes with a mixture of different fillings, chocolate spread, lemon juice and sugar.
