Today Year 6 became contestants in their own version of the Apprentice by taking on the task of planning, creating and starting their own free-range egg business from scratch.
They where given a rough outline of their project along with a handbook that contained various breeds of chicken, different types of chicken coops and a time frame for when their business has to be up and running.
The first task was to work out which 6 chickens they were going to purchase from a selection of 9 breeds which varied in price and amount of eggs they laid each year. Once this task was completed they had to work out which coop would be must suitable for the chickens and work out the cost of both.
They now need to work on a business plan to present to Mrs Beckett to see if she will back their project and provide the funds they need before being able to move on to the next stage of their project.
