As the autumn leaves have starting falling and the days are getting colder we have started to look at the native animals that use the farm as their own home as part of our 'Wildlife on the Farm' project and how the colder seasons effect them. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at a different animals and make sure they are looked after in the run up to winter by providing areas for them to hibernate and keep safe.
This week we looked at what hedgehogs need to safely hibernate and what food they need to fill up on before they do. We built a cosy hedgehog house and dry log pile area for them to spend the winter and hopefully we will have our first guests over the next few weeks.
