Sandon Community Farm isn't just for our children to enjoy, it is also open to other schools and community groups. In the last year we have numerous primary schools visiting the farm to enrich their own lessons, and a vulnerable adult group who visit us every fortnight to have contact time with the animals and special schools.
Our community ethos doesn't just end there. The manure that is generated by the farm animals is used by local allotment groups as compost. The rare breed pigs are from a local farm who lends us the piglets to grow before taking them away for breeding. We then get the resulting piglets back from the farmer, It's a fantastic arrangement which means the children are able to be more hands-on with the younger pigs and see how they develop.
We can occasionally take in unwanted small animals such as chickens and guinea pigs on the farm and reptiles in the reptile room. Please get in touch with Mr Kiddle at email@example.com
If you are a school or community group that would like to visit the farm for an educational visit or just to meet the animals, then please email the farm using the form below.
