Bottle Kilns

As part of our Proud to be a Potter topic launch, we had a look at bottle kilns and began to think about what they were used for. We looked at old photographs of Stoke-on-Trent and were amazed at how the landscape was almost filled with bottle kilns of all different shapes and sizes. Using charcoal, we had a try at creating our own bottle kiln landscapes and, for a first attempt, we think that everyone did a super job. Here are some great examples:
