Experimenting with electricity!

In year 6, our current science topic is electricity. This week we have been carrying out an investigation to answer the question of: Can electricity travel through water?

When we first tried it (with insulated wires) it didn't work and we worked out this was because water isn't a good conductor of electricity. We then added some salt to the water and suddenly our light bulbs came on!

We will be further investigating why this happened and writing up our results next week.
