What a busy week we have had. Phase 1 phonics has now been introduced to the routine which has seen the children taking to the forest on daily listening walks, identifying lots of environmental sounds. The children are working really hard on perfecting their tripod grip and controlling pencils and crayons to create lines and circular marks on paper and not forgetting the spectacular firework paintings produced using brightly coloured paints and different tools. Using construction, the children have explored shape and size whilst making rockets and towers.
Our week's story focus, 'The Kitchen Disco' was particularly enjoyable as the children explored the props from the story sack, joined in with the story phrases and explored the real fruits in our Home Corner. Make sure you keep and eye on those fruits in your Kitchen at home as they may just be partying while you sleep!
