Painting the Map Red!

We worked hard yesterday in groups, trying to beat the other teams to 'painting the map red'! When the British Empire was at large, it was the British goal to conquer and colonise as many countries across the world as they could (all of it if possible!). With only a list of countries' names, a blank world map and an iPad, the children set about researching the location of each country and marked it on the map. We learned lots about the location of a range of countries across the globe and had a great time while we were at it! Well done, Year 5!
