We looked through a brochure that was advertising a cruise, and identified the features which helped to persuade us to go. These included: rhetorical questions (make you think), slogans (catchy and stick in your mind), alliteration (tongue twisters), powerful adjectives, dare you disagree (obviously, clearly, everyone knows, it's clear to see etc)...
