This week in art Year 5 looked at an American artist, Georgia O'Keeffe. She is well known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers and New Mexico landscapes.
They created an artists study on her, discussed the bold, bright and intense colour pallet she used and then completed observational drawings focusing on a variety of shading techniques and line types. Year 5 then experimented with watercolours, focusing on brush techniques to create different textures and shading.
